Introduction to Oschadbank

The Bank is State-owned and headquartered in Kiev, Ukraine. The successor of “Soviet State Savings Bank of Ukraine” JSC State Savings Bank of Ukraine was registered by the National Bank of Ukraine on 31 December 1991.  Oschadbank gained its present status of an open joint-stock company in 1999. The General License of Oschadbank allows it to operate a universal commercial bank in every segment of the financial market, providing its customers with the full range of banking services. The State through the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine owns 100 per cent of Oschadbank’s shares. The bank traditionally specialises in serving individuals (households) throughout its extensive branch network. These services include offering various liability products, granting loans and advances to customers, investing in securities, transferring payments in Ukraine and abroad, and exchanging currencies.

• 100 per cent state-owned status and a unique 100 per cent government guarantee for household deposits; 
• Universal commercial bank with a focus on Retail banking; 
• One of the Top 10 banks in Ukraine with the market shares of 7.6 per cent. on the household deposit market and 3.6 per cent share on the retail lending market, 3.4 per cent. in aggregate assets of the Ukrainian banking sector (6th in Ukraine, according to Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB)) and 4.0 per cent in profit after tax with one of the highest ROE among Ukrainian banks (35.2 per cent. as of year-end 2005).; 
• Undisputable leader in Retail banking in Ukraine with the highest brand recognition rating in Ukraine (Ukrainian Marketing GroupTM as of  November 2006); 
• Oshadbank is one of the top 10 players in plastic cards, ATM and POS markets with a market share of 3.7 per cent. or 1,260,500 international plastic cards; 
• The biggest in Ukraine country-wide branch network with 25 regional branches, 400 sub-branches and 5,751 outlets of which 592 (10 per cent) located in Kiev as of 1 October 2006; As of 1 November 2006 number of customer accounts opened by Oschadbank was 94 927 898; 
• Long-term correspondent relationship with approximately 70 banks from 20 countries gives advantage in international payments; 
• High systemic importance for the Ukrainian banking system and social importance for the country
